Assoc. Prof. Kıvanç Kılınç from IZTECH Architecture Department Has Received 2024 VEKAM Research Project Support
Koç University Vehbi Koç Ankara Research Center (VEKAM) has issued a call for research project proposals in 2024, with the objective of contributing to scientific studies on Ankara and its environs, without imposing any disciplinary or field-specific constraints. Following a thorough evaluation process, the research project “Dimitri Petousis: An Incomplete Chapter in the History of Ankara’s Architectural Modernization (1940s)”, led by Associate Professor Kıvanç Kılınç from Izmir Institute of Technology, has been awarded as a VEKAM research project. The project aims to critically examine and uncover the professional life and history of Dimitri Petousis, a non-Muslim architect in Türkiye who made significant contributions to the architectural work of 1940s Ankara but whose contributions have been overlooked until today. The project is scheduled to span a duration of two years, from 2025 to 2026.
